Privacy

In brief: the tools run in your browser, we don’t store what you check, and we don’t use tracking cookies or accounts.

What happens when you run a check

When you check a domain, your browser sends DNS questions about that domain directly to Google Public DNS (dns.google), or to Cloudflare DNS (cloudflare-dns.com) if Google doesn’t answer. These are the same public lookups any computer makes when visiting a website or sending email. The domain name you enter and your IP address are visible to that DNS provider under its own privacy policy. Nothing about the check is sent to Mail Health Report’s servers, and we don’t keep a record of the domains people check.

Email headers

The header analyser reads the headers you paste entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded or sent anywhere.

Website visits

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It works without cookies and doesn’t identify individual visitors. It records the page address, the referring site, browser type, country and page-load performance. Because report addresses can include the domain you checked (for example /check/?d=example.com), and performance data can include the addresses of the lookups your browser made, Cloudflare may receive the name of a domain you checked as part of this data. We use analytics only for overall visitor numbers, and we don’t use it to see or keep a list of the domains people check. Fonts and all other site files are served from our own domain; we don’t use third-party font, advertising or tracking services.

Cookies and tracking

We don’t set cookies, run advertising trackers or build profiles, and there are no accounts or sign-ups. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse; it isn’t used for tracking or advertising.

Links in reports

Report links include the domain you checked (for example /check/?d=example.com) so you can share or revisit them. Anyone you send the link to will run the same public check in their own browser.

Changes

If we add features that handle data differently, such as optional monitoring, we’ll update this page before they go live.
